Tom Huddleston

Executive Vice President, Head of Vylla Title

Tom Huddleston

With more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, Tom Huddleston brings extensive knowledge of all aspects of the Real Estate continuum to Carrington Mortgage Holdings and the Vylla family of companies including mortgage lending operations, title and settlement management, default asset management, cash management operations, support services, product development and product management. Tom, who currently heads Vylla Title, has been with Carrington for eight years and has been responsible across multiple Carrington companies for client relationships including Ginnie Mae, as well as business and strategic development focused on providing real estate business solutions for the financial service industry.

Prior to joining Carrington, Tom spent 20 years as a senior manager of Mortgage & Consumer Lending for Pittsburgh-based Mellon Financial (now BNY MELLON), as well as 10 years as an executive in the real estate settlement services industry. Tom is a certified cash manager, was on the faculty of the BAI School of Banking for six years, a former member of the Board of Directors for the National Home Equity Association, a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, Borough President for his local municipality, and a volunteer for a number of local Pittsburgh Charities.

Jim Potter

Senior Vice President, Title and Settlement Services

Jim Potter

Jim Potter joined Carrington Holdings in 2008 and is currently responsible for the strategic management, growth and day to day operations of Vylla Title, Vylla Escrow, Vylla Insurance Agency, Carrington Foreclosure Services and Carrington Document Services. Since launching Vylla Title (formerly known as Carrington Title Services) in 2008, the California based organization has grown into a premier national provider of title and settlement services with considerable expertise in managing complex purchase, refinance, default, and commercial title transactions while performing with industry leading precision.

Prior to Carrington, Jim was a key member of the management team at Accredited Home Lenders managing all insurance related businesses. He was instrumental in the formation of their national title and insurance businesses. Jim also led all insurance businesses as Director of Insurance at GreenPoint Financial In New York which included a national title, insurance, reinsurance and notary businesses. He also held a key position as National Marketing Manager at American Bankers Insurance Group where he directed a national sales force to provide value-added insurance solutions marketed to the customers of Fortune 100 financial institutions. Jim has also held numerous management positions over his 35-year financial services career with major institutions such as Bank of America and Security Pacific Bank. He holds Life and Property Casualty Insurance licenses in all 50 states.

Jay Mills

Vice President, Operations, Vylla Escrow, Inc

Jay Mills

Jay is responsible for Operations, Compliance and Business Development for Vylla’s large and rapidly growing family of companies including Vylla Escrow, Inc. and Vylla Title in California. Jay works to manage and develop existing client relationships to mutually promote both parties and exponentially increase revenue and revenue streams. He has decades of experience in the Escrow industry and leads a strong team of high touch customer service experts.

Jay is a member of the California Escrow institute, California Escrow Association, The Orange County Escrow Association and is a commissioned California Notary Public. Additionally, Jay teaches courses on Real Estate licensing renewal and Notary Public commissioning preparation, providing him with unique perspective when engaging with other members of the real estate community. He works with Local, National and International charity organizations and is currently heading up a team of real estate based professionals that serve a senior veterans home locally, providing entertainment, nutritional and emotional support and serves as a Director on the Board for Muriel’s Angels, a local children’s charity solving mobility issues for families with physically and mentally challenged children.

Jeanette Shaffer

Vice President, Title And Settlement Services

Jeanette Shaffer

Jeanette Shaffer is an experienced operations manager in the title insurance industry with a proven track record of achievement that positively impact a company’s growth and success. Jeanette is a results-oriented leader and savvy communicator who is able to build cohesive and productive working relations with people at all corporate levels. Jeanette has more than 25 years of experience in the title industry and is a licensed title agent in over 20 states. Jeanette is currently Vylla Title’s VP of Title and Settlement services and oversees the order entry, client relations, purchase, recording and the policy teams respectively.

Previously, Jeanette spent 20 years with a national title agent. During her time at that agency, she held a variety of operational positions with most of the focus on refinance and closing operations. Jeanette was also the Sr. Director of a joint venture between the agent and HSBC and was responsible for all of the branch network closings, which at one time was approximately 30,000 closings per month.

Hazelle Weissinger

Vice President of Client Management

Hazelle Weissinger

Hazelle Weissinger is a multi-faceted, seasoned professional in the Default and Title Insurance industry with more than 25 years of industry experience. She has been with the Carrington and Vylla family of companies for more than five years. Her role as Vice President of Client Management includes the onboarding of all new clients, management of any required contracts, systems implementation, and response to all client vendor security questionnaires. Her role is to act as the client advocate to ensure the services provided exceed all client expectations. In addition to managing the client accounts, Hazelle has oversight of invoicing operations and provides general administration and vendor management support.

Prior to joining Vylla Title, Hazelle worked for several well-known service organizations in an executive leadership role such as Auction.com, Old Republic Default Services, LandAmerica Default Services, Professional Lenders Alliance and Shapiro & Miles (member of the LOGS network.) In these roles she had P&L responsibility and developed new products and services for each entity. Hazelle is also very involved with the Southern California Outrigger Canoe community where she serves as President of Newport Outrigger Canoe Club and actively races within that community.
